Don't put it on carpet, on a bed or pillow or other such thing. Put it on a hard surface -- a table, a lapdesk, a large book -- anything so that it's legs are keeping it a little off the surface and letting air get underneath. Also make sure that any vents you see on the case are not blocked by dust, your hands, or anything else.
