I only wish I’d bought my Asus sooner. I’m so in love with this netbook. The portability, 10.1 inch screen, convenience and light weight. It is performing well and even got some added features not originally stated. Decided to purchase skin so I would not have to fuss with the fingerprint issue on the case, etc. All professional reviews score this 1005HA high. That and some word of mouth among friends convinced me to buy this and I highly recommend to anyone who needs to stay on top of emails and still want to have some fun with games. I’m doing fine with a 4/5 hour battery runtime. I don’t see myself ever needing more than that. This recharges quickly. My unit stays cool and as much as I love my larger laptop for home use I absolutely love when I switch over to the Asus because I don’t have all the extra weight of a padded lap tray and fan system.

I really enjoy my new netbook! It stays with me at work and at home (we have Wi-Fi at both places). I currently use it for tracking my diet and exercise, building my Ning social network, and playing games.

After a long review finally I found this one was the one (good specs and also good price), and despite U.S.P.S. -United States Postal Service- incompetence (they coudn’t find the shipping address and returned the box to Amazon), I still think it is an excelent choice. Go ahed! Excelent choice!!!

Not bad at all, specially with the price 284.99, fast shipping. the 1005ha is slick lighter than the 1000.

Product power port is weak compare to the eee pc 1000ha/he, it often lose contact from the power adapter tip to power port!

I bought this for portable wi-fi and it does work for this. But, I’m a novice in wi-fi so I am disappointed in its limited range. On my house wireless network it is ok in the room below, but out of range in the front of the house maybe 40 feet away. I bought an extender antenna for it which was very difficult to install for lack of “dummy” instructions (assumed I knew a whole lot more than I did). It would allow the netbook to pick up my wireless signal in the front of the house, but speed is so slow that I can’t use it for video.

I was also surprised at getting system error messages early on when I hadn’t done anything to disrupt the default system. And ASUS tech support must come from Taiwan- stilted language and poor spelling/grammar that makes it hard to understand their FAQs and such. There is a very active ASUS Forum on the Internet, but I’m not sure you can trust the advice there in all cases.

Last, maybe I expected too much, but booting is very slow. I may try the extra gig of memory to see what effect that has.

On the plus side- Amazon ordering was a snap and I got it very quickly even with the free delivery. And the price was better than anything else I could find.
