HP Pavilion ZV5000 Laptop Review

16 December 2009 No Comment

I’ve been an avid HP supporter for years. Well when I finally needed to buy a new laptop, it came as no surprise that I was immediately taken in by the HP laptops. I scanned over each and every HP laptop out on display at my local Best Buy store, but I ended up buying my HP laptop somewhere else.

The reason I purchased my HP Pavilion ZV5000 laptop is the additional features that many other laptops lack. HP Pavilion ZV5000 series laptops have a button located right above the mouse pad. You can press this button, to totally turn off the mouse pad. This handy little feature was a must have for me because my old laptop didn’t have it. Everyone who has ever used any laptop knows, when you type, your thumb sometimes hits the mouse pad. With it turned off, you have no problems with it accidentally touching it. This also makes it convenient if you want to add a regular mouse.

HP Pavilion laptops have a larger screen and a larger keyboard then regular notepads. This larger size screens and keyboard makes the HP laptops weigh more as well.

The HP Pavilion ZV5000 laptop has three USB ports, not just one. The extra one has been a huge blessing to me because I have so many USB things I use. Printers, MP3 player, mouse, etc. HP Pavilions are upgradeable to 2 GB of RAM, thus Vista is compatible with these series of laptops.

The HP Pavilion also comes with Hyper-Threading. This is an additional bonus to the already powerful system and RAM supply. Hyper-Threading is referred to as HT Technology. HT improves the CPU efficiency by allowing the processor to execute two instruction streams at the same time. As a power user this has helped me more times than I can count, and if you aren’t a power user, you can just consider this another little blessing that comes in handy when you least expect it.

HP Pavilion ZV5000 comes with 5 in 1 Media Reader (secure digital, memory stick/Pro, MMC, XD, and Picture Card). This is excellent when family members come to visit with digital cameras and you want a copy of their photos. Just pull their card out of their digital camera and push it into the slot on your laptop. Instantly the photos are there. Nothing to install, no harassment of compatibly issues saves you time and embarrassment.

Last but not least the Wireless LAN Broadcom 802.11b/g. The fact it comes with a B and a G is very important. You don’t want to be trapped needing a G and only having a B, or vise a versa. There is even a button on the keyboard to turn off the wireless card at anytime. I’ve never had to use that option, even when traveling.

I recommend to all my friends and family to buy HP Pavilion ZV5000 series laptops, because you can’t go wrong with perfection. The reason I call it perfection is because, HP Pavilion laptops has two fans on the bottom helping keep it cooler the most laptops out there. It’s hard to type with a hot laptop on your lap burning your legs.
